Elliott Schwartz, MD
Presently, he is the Founder and Institute Director of the Northern California Institute for Bone Health, Inc. in Orinda, California (2005-present) and Medical Director of the Clark Miller Center for the Evaluation and Treatment of Stress Fractures the Center for Accelerated Fracture Healing and the Center for Preoperative and Perioperative Optimization of Bone Health (2008-present). He has a private practice in Orinda in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Metabolic Bone Disease. Dr. Schwartz is a Team Physician in Internal Medicine for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball; he has been a Team Physician for the Golden State Warriors of the NBA (1983-2011) and served as a consultant for the Oakland Raiders of the NFL (1976-2010). He has also served on numerous committees and task forces for the ISCD over the last fifteen years, as well as having been a past treasurer. He presently serves as a Regional Representative and is an instructor for the Physician ISCD BDC (since 1999) and VFA (since its inception) course. He is experienced with Hologic densitometers (since 1986) and with Lunar DPA/SPA (1983-86) and GE Prodigy and Prodigy Advance since 2001. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, UCSF, and serves at the Skeletal Health Service, Orthopedic Institute, UCSF.
